Rawlings Sporting Goods and Easton Diamond Sports have entered into a definitive agreement for Rawlings to acquire Easton, the American baseball and softball brand. The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed. The existing shareholders of Peak Achievement Athletics, Easton’s parent company, will continue to participate as minority owners in the combined organization. Peak is also the parent company of Cascade Lacrosse, Bauer Hockey and Maverik Lacrosse. The acquisition is subject to customary closing conditions, including the receipt of U.S. regulatory clearance, and is expected to close in the next 30-45 days. Until then, Rawlings and Easton will remain separate entities and operate independently. Rawlings, headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, is owned by Seidler Equity Partners. Major League Baseball also has a stake in the business. Among other sponsorships, Rawlings is the official baseball, helmet, face guard and glove of Major League Baseball, the official baseball of Minor League Baseball and the official baseball and softball of the NCAA and the NAIA.
