Wilson, a subsidiary of Amer Sports, has introduced the Triniti, a new tennis ball that is said to both last longer and not require packaging in pressurized plastic containers. The core of the ball is made from a plastomer material, which weighs less than the traditional core of a tennis ball. According to Wilson, this has allowed engineers to thicken the core's walls and obtain an increased lifespan for the ball. The Triniti is said to maintain “its fresh ball feel” four times longer than a traditional Wilson tennis ball. Furthermore, the packaging of the Triniti tennis ball is made from recycled cardboard and is fully recyclable itself. The Triniti tennis ball will be launched worldwide on Sept. 16.
