Asics has launched “Vision2030,” the company’s new long-term vision and targets for the coming ten years. During this timeframe and beyond, the company said it plans to expand its business in three domains: Product, Facility and Community, and Analysis and Diagnosis.

The Product domain will focus on the creation of a framework for the development of personalized products, based on customers’ individual preferences and delivered quickly. The Facility and Community domain will offer opportunities to start and continue sports as well as sites for anyone to enjoy sports, whether in reality or virtually. The Analysis and Diagnosis domain will use analytical diagnostic methods and data collection to support the maintenance and improvement of individuals’ health and performance. All three business domains will share the three common themes of digital, personal and sustainable.

While presenting the new strategy, the company highlighted the huge changes that our society and the environment have been going through at an unprecedented speed, as well as the place that digital technology has come to occupy in our everyday lives. Asics also stressed the new social issues related to our health that have arisen, suggesting that awareness of health conditions from both a mind and body perspective is likely to grow even more in the future - which resonates with Asics’ founding philosophy of “a sound mind in a sound body.”

The very name of the company is an acronym for “Anima Sana In Corpore Sano,” to paraphrase the Latin “mens sana in corpore sano” (a healthy mind in a healthy body). The company argued that in this fast-changing world, this founding philosophy will be “more required from society and people than ever.”
