David Macher, who founded Therm-ic in 1987, quits the Austrian company, where he acted as chief executive. Urs Maron, the former marketing and sales manager of Atomic who became a partner in 2006, is taking over his place. At the age of 52, Macher is going into early retirement after remarrying. Maron, who is running another company, Swiss Line, at the same time, says that Therm-ic has gotten to a size and structure that allows it to continue without Macher. Having developed into a less seasonal and more diversified business, Therm-ic has doubled its turnover in the last five years, but 70 percent of it is still winter-related.
