Globeride, the Japanese company behind the Daiwa brand of fishing and golf products, saw a more than eightfold increase in its net income to 3,953 million yen (€30.8m-$36.1m) for its first fiscal quarter ended June 30, compared with ¥488 million last year, on a 62 percent jump in revenues to ¥33.0 billion (€260m-$302m). The results were also better than in the same period of 2019. As compared to a year ago, sales increased by 65 percent in Japan, by 53 percent in Europe, by 51 percent in North America and by 67 percent in the rest of Asia and Oceania. The gross margin improved by 2.6 percentage points to 38.4 percent.
