Intersport Italia is moving into a higher pitch with its “INTERSPORT for UNICEF” campaign in favor of disadvantaged children in the Third World, after a successful start a year ago, where its entire Italian store network took part in the collection of the funds through the sale of special calendars as Christmas gifts. This year the scheme has been enriched and it involves final consumers even more. In fact, they can participate in this charity project by purchasing two specific products – a €15 Teamgeist ball by Adidas and/or a €19 fitness bag by Reebok - in the Italian Intersport stores. Three euros from the sale of each product will go to UNICEF, and the funds will be used to finance the distribution of special Intersport branded “play kits,” conceived to allow Third World children to play football, volleyball, handball and other sports games, like the more fortunate kids in the more developed countries. Intersport Italia is backing the new extended effort with a massive advertising campaign throughout Italy. Its team hopes that its program will become much more international and shared by other important partners in the future.
