At its Institute of Sport Science (ISS) in Kobe, Japan, Asics has developed a face mask to enable runners to run hard and still breathe well. The Asics Runners Face Cover keeps the air flowing with vents, a curved structure, and a fabric that dries quickly and can withstand washing. According to the company, about 31 percent of the mask’s materials are recycled, and runners who have tested it feel “little to almost no difference from wearing no mask.” It will sell for $40 as of mid-September.
