One year after the tragic accidental death of Marko “Grilo” Grilc, Burton will offer a limited number of Gril Master snowboards. Even shortly before his passing, “Grilo” had been working with Burton to develop the board.
The idea was to create a snowboard that combines family cruising and solo laps “while the kids ate fries at the lodge.” The design of the board now comes from the children of the Slovenian snowboarding legend. Burton will donate funds to the Grilc family to help families raise their children standing sideways. The Grilc family has also launched thegriloshop.com. It offers action sports events and merch “to introduce young families to the joy of standing sideways in the mountains.”
