René Benko has further increased his control over Signa Holding, the real estate company that owns Karstadt and other retail assets. According to Textilwirtschaft, the Benko family's private foundation has taken over the 30.6 percent stake held in Signa Holding by the Falcon Private Bank of Zurich. The family thus owns 90 percent of Signa's shares. The balance is owned by Ernst Tanner, chairman of Lindt & Sprüngli. The Manager magazine reports that Falcon remains a shareholder in two subsidiaries of Signa.
