In view of the decision by the German government to reduce the value-added tax from 19 to 16 percent for certain products and from 7 to 5 percent for others from July 1, the sporting goods retailer and manufacturer Decathlon Germany declared that it will pass on the tax benefits to its customers in a transparent manner. The company will adjust the prices for all products in its current range in Germany. The spread of the virus had led to massive restrictions in the retail trade and the temporary closure of Decathlon’s growing number of physical stores in Germany. Before reopening, all stores were thoroughly cleaned, and attention was paid to the correct implementation of the security requirements.
