Assosport, the Italian association for the sporting goods industry, organized a workshop in Warsaw on Nov. 14-15, under the aegis of the Italian ministry for economic development and the Italian Trade Commission (ICE), to promote trade relations between Italian companies and buyers from Eastern Europe. Reacting to the crisis in Italy's domestic market, the Italian sports system is trying to seize the opportunities offered by the steady growth in such markets as Russia, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and the countries of the former Soviet Union. Participants in the workshop included Aesse, Brugi, E.R. Rovera, Gabel, I&I, Lotto, Masters, Quibos, Pasasport, Podartis, Scorpion Bay and Stamperia Alicese.
