Cybex International's net sales were down to $30.8 million in the second quarter from $32.6 for the corresponding period in 2011, and its gross margin slid by 4.4 percentage points to 29.4 percent. The U.S. fitness equipment company reported a net loss of $1.2 million, a worsening from a net loss of $0.6 million for the corresponding 2011 period. The sales drop was said to reflect uncertainty in the general economy. Results included litigation charges of $1.3 million for a case that had been settled during the first quarter of 2012. The company is set to introduce a lower-priced 525 series of cardio products during the fourth quarter of 2012.
