Sports Direct International is going to change its name to Frasers Group, following its acquisition of House of Frasers, the struggling British chain of department stores. The move, which is supposed to improve its image, is likely to be approved by shareholders at a meeting in mid-December as the company's chief executive and major shareholder, Mike Ashley, holds the biggest portion of the votes directly and indirectly. After its acquisition of House of Frasers in August 2018, Ashley said that it wanted to turn it into the “Harrods of the High Street.”
