A Brazilian newspaper has reported that the footwear manufacturer Vulcabras wants to almost double production at its Argentinian factory. It now employs about 3,000 people, and Vulcabras’ president, Milton Cardoso, reportedly wants to increase that to 5,000. This comes in the wake of a commitment by the Argentinian government to increase local production and cut imports by 2010. Vulcabras produces Reebok and Olympikus products at the Argentinian factory, but with the increased production would like to add the two other brands it makes, Azaleia and Vulcabras.
