Claus Thomsen, 42, is returning to Denmark to become in October managing director of Sanita, a Danish company that celebrated its 100th anniversary last May. He will gradually replace Knud Jeppesen, owner of the company, who has turned 65 years old. A former police officer, Thomsen worked for Viking Footwear as product and purchase manager for two years. After five years at Active Sportswear, a Danish company in the sporting goods sector, he joined Head Sport in Austria two and a half years ago to put together a completed range of products for badminton. He also ran the company’s footwear operations. With an annual turnover estimated at €50-60 million, Sanita has about 500 production workers in Poland and the Ukraine and another 120 at its offices.
