Very good sales of Kari Traa and Dæhlie products have been helping Active Brands of Norway to boost sales significantly and earnings in the past few years. Sales continued to grow in the last two years, but profits have declined. In 2018, Active Brands had revenues of 967 million Norwegian kroner (€96.3m-$107m), an increase of NOK 74 million from the previous year. Profit before tax ended at 71 million (€7.1m-$7.8m), down from 87 million in 2017. The company has admitted that margins are under pressure, complaining about rising commodity prices for items such as wool, a material the company relies on heavily. Active Brands' chief executive, Espen Krogstad, told the Norwegian newspaper DN that 2019 started off very well, with growth in both revenue and profit.
