Zona de Padel, a Spanish online retailer, reports a 40% revenue increase to €4 million in 2024, up from €2.7 million in 2023, as reported by CMDsport.
Zona de Padel, a Spanish retailer operating primarily online, estimates that its revenues for 2024 have climbed by 40 percent year-on-year, to about €4 million, according to CMDsport. Revenues for 2023 amounted to €2.7 million.
E-commerce accounts for 60 percent of sales, exports for half. “Spain seems to be on pause,” founder and CEO Pablo Risueño García tells CMD. “It’s hard to grow [there], while more opportunities are opening up in the rest of Europe.” In addition to its native Spain, Zona de Padel serves France, Portugal, Italy, Sweden, the Netherlands, the US, Japan and Austria, each of which has its own website. Germany and the UK are to follow this year. The latter presents “a series of added difficulties, since they left the European Union,” the CEO says, ”but it’s a big market, very interesting, with padel undergoing a full expansion.”
The company has established a new warehouse and is on its third and biggest site for the one physical store it operates. This store, always located somewhere in Valencia, dates back to Zona de Padel’s founding, in 2013, and has grown from 30 to 400 square meters. In stock, among other things, are padel shoes from Asics and racquets from Head, Bullpadel and Nox.
Zona de Padel has just launched a house brand of racquets, called Dreampadel and consisting of three models, for beginnings, intermediate and advanced players.
