Manchester United reports that its retail, merchandising, apparel and product licensing revenues contracted by 9.5 percent to £7.6 million (€10.6m-$11.8m) for the third quarter of its fiscal year, up to the end of March. This was chiefly due to reduced guaranteed revenue from Nike, as the club failed to qualify for Uefa competitions in the current season. Adidas is taking over in August as the club's global technical sponsor and dual-branded licensing partner, under a ten-year contract sealed last year, which guarantees revenues of £750 million (€1,042.3mm-$1,162.8m). The club still increased its commercial revenues by 11.7 percent to £47.8 million (€66.4m-$74.1m), including a 22.1 percent jump in sponsorship revenues. Due to a sharp decline in broadcasting and Matchday revenues, the football club's entire turnover shrank by 17.7 percent to £95.0 million (€132.0m-$147.3m).
