America’s Cup will be back in Europe and once again in Spain in 2024. Barcelona has been confirmed as the host venue for the 37th edition to be held in September and October 2024. The last time in Europe was in 2010 in Valencia, which also hosted the 2007 edition. San Francisco followed in 2013, Bermuda in 2017 and Auckland in 2021. Barcelona will become the first venue to host both the Olympic Games (1992) and an America’s Cup event. Also, for the first time, in 2024, America’s Cup will include a specific women’s regatta. America’s Cup was first contested in 1851, making it the oldest trophy in international sport.
