Amidst a rapidly evolving social media landscape, Instagram reigns as the top platform for brand amplification in the fashion, lifestyle, and beauty industries, according to a new data report from Launchmetrics in collaboration with fashion shopping platform Lyst. Launchmetrics, born from the merger of Fashion GPS and Augure in January 2016, is a brand performance cloud provider. With a Media Impact Value (MIV) of $16.9 billion, Instagram emerged as the frontrunner in the first half of 2023, followed by Facebook with $3.5 billion. YouTube and RED totaled $2 billion each. Fashion, the top-performing segment, amassed $8.7 billion in MIV, doubling the MIV of the second-placed beauty sector. Furthermore, the engagement rates for fashion content were 30 percent higher than for beauty. Sportswear stood out for an average MIV per placement at $8,700 per post. The data analysis considered more than 3,500 fashion, lifestyle, and beauty brands.
