Puma has collaborated with absorbent apparel brand Modibodi on a series of Period Pep Talks with female athletes designed to encourage women and girls to stay in sport. The initiative is meant to address the problem of girls quitting sports due to periods.
The talks feature Australian rugby star Tiana Penitani, European sprinter Jodie Williams, and former professional race car driver Naomi Schiff. The featured athletes share their own stories and experiences and directly address young girls and teens who are considering leaving the sport they love due to puberty and menstruation.
As part of the Period Pep Talk campaign, Puma and Modibodi have also designed a new patent-pending period activewear collection, launching this October, which combines Modibodi’s patent-pending Activewear Technology with Puma’s expertise in sporting apparel. The collection consists of two styles of activewear: leggings and cycle shorts. This is the second installment from the Puma x Modibodi collaboration, after launching their first period and leak-proof underwear range in May of this year.
