On Sept. 28, 2024, Intersport Deutschland eG will celebrate the grand opening of three flagship stores in Mannheim, Osnabrück and Kempten, marking a significant step in its expansion strategy. These stores, developed with L&T, Engelhorn Sports, and Sport Reischmann, are designed to set new standards in sports retail with a focus on exclusive experiences and premium services.

“With the opening of our flagship locations, we are setting a new benchmark in sports retail, aligning with our strategy ‘Best in Sports: Up for Future’,” Dr. Alexander von Preen, CEO of Intersport Deutschland, explained the significance of the flagship stores, saying. Each store will feature a unified design and a sleek black logo, positioning Intersport at the top of the premium market segment.

The opening celebrations will be packed with events designed to create immersive sports experiences for customers. The stores will host exclusive activities in collaboration with leading brands such as Adidas, Asics, Under Armour, Columbia, Mammut and Puma.

  • At the Osnabrück location, visitors can watch world record holder Lukas Irmer perform a slackline show or join Olympians Louisa Lippmann and Kira Walkenhorst for a podium talk. There will also be yoga, basketball and fitness sessions.
  • Mannheim’s store, operated by Engelhorn Sports, will offer fitness challenges with Under Armour, shoe testing with Asics and a running session led by Fabienne Königstein. Customers will be able to meet mountaineer Michi Wohlleben and German track athlete Lisa Mayer.
  • The Kempten store, operated by Sport Reischmann, will offer climbing experiences in partnership with Mammut and a series of Puma-hosted challenges. Notable athletes like Jonas Deichmann will also be present to engage with customers.
