11teamsports, one of Europe’s leading team sports specialists for products and team services, has acquired basketball and streetwear retailer Kickz. Kickz was founded in Munich in 1993 and is a multi-brand retailer specializing in basketball and sneakers. Zalando purchased Kickz in 2017 and sold it in late 2019 to Play Hard, a subsidiary of German-based start-up incubator Crealize. The retailer operates a total of five stores in Berlin, Hamburg and Munich.
11teamsports is headquartered in Satteldorf, Germany, and operates 71 stores across Europe. The company was founded in 2007 and claims to work with more than 10,000 amateur teams and over 100 professional clubs. In March, Ralf Fäßler, who had previously worked at Nike for 23 years, took over as CEO after Oliver Schwerin left the company.
