A district court judge in Oregon has let a lawsuit by Adidas against Skechers over its Stan Smith shoe go to trial, denying a request by Skechers to overrule the claims. He has accepted most of the claims, though not all of them. In the case, Adidas sued Skechers in September 2015, obtaining a temporary injunction after claiming that its Onyx shoe infringed on the trade dress of the iconic Stan Smith. The Big a also alleged that Skechers had copied its three-stripe logo and illicitly used the “Supernova” name, which had been registered by Adidas.
