A global football survey conducted by Kantar, the market research agency, found that Manchester United is the most popular football club in the world, pulling in 659 million fans. This despite the fact that the team didn't win the big competition this year, losing the Premiership to its cross-town rivals, Manchester City. Incidentally, Forbes magazine named Man United as the most valuable team in world sports. Kantar's survey of 54,000 people in 39 countries found that football is the most popular sport in the world with a total of 1.6 billion followers.
