A Hungarian inventor, Lászlo Orosz, has won a lengthy judicial fight in the Hungarian courts against Adidas in which he claimed that the company infringed his patents through the release of its Predator Precision football boot in 2002 and the Predator Mania a little later. Orosz said that he had launched a boot with a similar rubber toe in the 1990s. Penalties have not yet been assessed, according to a report, but Orosz is reportedly asking for a lot of money in view of the fact that Adidas has sold many pairs of the infringing shoes. Adidas says it is still reviewing the decision of the Metropolitan Appeals Court of Budapest.
