A new survey by Piper Jaffray, the U.S. investment bank, again ranked Nike as the favorite apparel brand among U.S. teenagers. About 27 percent of respondents pointed to Nike as their preferred clothing brand, way ahead of Forever 21 with 7 percent and American Eagle with 6 percent. Nike's popularity among teenage consumers is even more striking for footwear, with 50 percent of respondents picking the Swoosh as their preferred brand. Nike is far ahead of Vans with 9 percent and Converse with 7 percent. The survey, which involves 9,400 teenagers across 46 states, provides many other insights into teenage spending on fashion, beauty, personal care, digital media and more.
