A Norwegian sporting goods retailer, Torshov Sport, recently opened the world's largest and most important football store, according to its general manager, Terje Laurendz. The store, located in Oslo, is in the same premises as the company's previous football-specific store, but has been expanded by more than 400 square meters for a total of 1,200 square meters. New customer experiences include an indoor testing area for football shoes on artificial turf as well as the world's longest football shoe wall. Torshov Sport has invested nearly 6 million Norwegian kroner (€0.64m-$0.70m) in the new store. It was developed in close cooperation with Nike and Adidas, which account for between 80 and 90 percent of sales. Other important suppliers such as Puma, New Balance and Under Armour have also participated in the expansion process. In a recent interview, Laurendz explained that the store's goal is to be Oslo's answer to Niketown in London.
