A top executive of Hummel is playing down a report about an investigation by the Danish Competition Authority into allegations that it has been hindering free price competition in the Danish market. According to the official, the investigation follows a request made by a salesman of the company to a Danish retailer to stick to Humme\'s recommended retail prices. Hummel has a very large share of the Danish sporting goods market, but is allowing dealers to offer discounts on its products, the official says, adding that the company continues to grow by more than 20 percent a year, mostly outside Denmark.
