About 200 people moved into Adidas France's new head office last month, in the business district of Strasbourg-Archipel, across from the European Parliament. The office has been transferred there from Landersheim, a small village in the Alsace where Adidas France was built up by Horst Dassler from 1973, after a move from the group's original French office and production plant in nearby Dettwiller. Adidas says it wanted to remain in the Alsace but the new location makes it easier to commute from Paris, where many of Adidas France's 700 employees live. During an event held in Landersheim last year to commemorate the passing of Horst Dassler, it was said that the former office complex would be used for an international wine academy.
