About 60 workers at a Cambodian factory collapsed in a mass fainting incident, according to just-style.com. The Sportex Industry factory, which supplies sportswear for Adidas, had three false fire alarms in a row, forcing the workers there to rush out of the two-story building three times. Afterward, they collapsed; initial reports show that they suffered from a lack of oxygen in the building and from the rush to escape. The Ministry of Labor of Cambodia is asking the facility, in Phnom Penh, to give the affected workers four days off with pay before requiring that they return to work. An initiative of the International Labor Organization is trying to curb episodes of mass fainting in Cambodia's garment industry, education workers on health and hygiene, and employers on improved working conditions.
