Accell Group has increased its stake in Velosophy from 35 percent to 100 percent. Velosophy, the owner of Babboe, is a specialist in e-cargo bike solutions for consumers and the business market. The acquisition is meant to increase Accell's involvement with the development of urban mobility solutions, an evolution that involves both consumers and the growing market of mobility solutions for the delivery of parcels, meals and shopping in cities. Velosophy posted a turnover of €17.7 million in 2017. In 2018, Velosophy launched CarQon, a premium e-cargo bike for the top end of the market. Velosophy's third brand, Centaur Cargo, serves the market of electric delivery bikes for urban transport. The acquisition, which is subject to the approval of the German market authority, is expected to be completed in the third quarter of this year.
