Accell Group, the Dutch company that owns a dollop of bicycle and fitness brands, said that the pleasant weather this summer enabled it to increase its turnover in the third quarter. The rise was also aided by the acquisition of the Raleigh Cycle Group and its Diamondback brand in April, but the company's continuing operations saw sales increases as well, driven by electrical and sports bikes. Accell predicts that its turnover will be on the rise for the full year. However, due to product cost increases and the costs relating to the Raleigh acquisition, Accell added that its operating profit in the second half would not make up for the decline suffered in the first half. As the second half is traditionally weaker than the first half, the company said that it has concluded factoring agreements for some of its accounts receivable in order to finance seasonal credit requirements.
