Accell Group, the Dutch company that owns a raft of cycling and fitness brands, has agreed to take over all shares of Vartex, a Swedish trading company dealing in bicycles and bicycle parts. Accell is formally acquiring Vartex through Batavus, one of its subsidiaries and bicycle brands. Based in Varberg, Vartex has a network of retail customers all around Sweden. Accell will finance the acquisition from its own resources and Vartex will be consolidated from the start of July. The Accell Group said that the management of Vartex was to remain in place after the takeover.
