Accell Group, the Dutch company with a smattering of bicycle and fitness equipment brands, said it had reached a deal to take over all shares of Van Nicholas, a specialist Dutch supplier of titanium bicycles and frames. Based in Numansdorp, the Netherlands, the company will be integrated into Koga, the Accell subsidiary that focuses on the high-end bicycle brand of the same name. Van Nicholas bicycles and frames will still be marketed under that brand, but their sales will be supported by Koga's international network. Van Nicholas was established five years ago and owned by its founder, Jan-Willem Sintnicolaas, who will stay with the company. Accell said that Van Nicholas reached sales of a few million euros per year. The takeover was financed with Accell's own resources and will immediately contribute to its earnings per share.
