Accell Group, the parent company of bicycle brands including Raleigh, Sparta, Atala, Haibike and others, has announced the appointment of Ruben Baldew as the new chief financial officer and a member of the board of directors, effective Nov. 1. Baldew, who currently serves as financial director at Unilever Thailand, will replace Hielke Sybesma, who resigned from Accell in May of this year after 23 years with the company. Baldew, 41, started his professional career in 2001 at Unilever, where he has held different financial positions in various countries, including financial director of Unilever Benelux, among others, until his current position as financial director of Unilever Thailand. In addition to his financial responsibilities, he has also been closely involved in IT matters, in areas including ERP and CRM, Accell said in a release. Following his appointment, Accel Group's board of directors will consist of three members, including Ton Anbeek (chief executive), Ruben Baldew (chief financial officer) and Jeroen Both (chief supply chain officer).
