According to an unconfirmed press report, Warrior Sports, the team sports subsidiary of New Balance, is reportedly going to be the jersey sponsor of the Liverpool Football Club, starting with the 2012-13 season. It would take the place of Adidas, which in turn took the contract over from Reebok after acquiring the brand. The reports indicate that New Balance is going to spend the equivalent of $41 million on the deal, or about double what Adidas is paying. In line with its new sports marketing policies, New Balance recently signed a deal to sponsor the Boston Red Sox baseball team.
