According to Sweden's HUI research institute, retail sales of sporting goods dropped by 1.4 percent in the country in December, which was a record month for retail in general. The decline was largely due to unusually warm weather during the month. In January the weather turned colder and sporting goods sales rebounded with an increase of 15 percent as compared to the same month last year.
