Adidas and other sponsors of the Olympic Games have expressed their dismay about new allegations of corruption in the decision-making process at Fifa for choosing the country to host the World Cup. Sony has decided to stop endorsing the event after the recent pullout of Emirates Airlines. Meanwhile, Fifa has lodged a criminal complaint in Switzerland for possible misconduct by unidentified individuals in the bidding process for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups in Russia and Qatar. The complaint is based on an investigation conducted by a former U.S. district attorney, Michael Garcia, but its exactitude is being challenged.
