Adidas and Reebok top the 2018 edition of the Fashion Transparency Index, which reviews and ranks global fashion and apparel brands and retailers based on how much information they disclose about their value chain and its social and environmental impact. The Index, issued by Fashion Revolution, was first launched in 2016. The first edition scored 40 brands only. The latest edition ranks 150 brands, all of which have an annual turnover of more than $500 million. The Index uses a ratings methodology that looks exclusively at the public disclosure via public communications of supply chain information. In the Top 3, we find Adidas and Reebok, both with a 58 percent score, or 144.5 points, followed by Puma with 56 percent. The average score for all brands in the 2018 Index is 52 points out of the 250 possible points they could score. Points are converted into rounded-up percentages. At the bottom of the list appear, among others, Desigual, Max Mara, Sandro, Dior, and Nine West, all of which show a 0 percent score. Also in the 0-10 percent group are Foot Locker and Sports Direct, both at 5 percent, Lacoste at 6 percent, and Amazon with a 10 percent score.
