Adidas and Textronics have been sued in a U.S. federal court by Sarvint Technologies, a start-up in Atlanta that claims infringement of two “Smart Shirt” patents through the miCoach men's training shirt, which integrates a heart rate monitor. Sarvint acquired last April an exclusive license to make and sell products using the two patents, which were issued in 1998 to Sunderesan Jayaraman, a professor at the School of Materials Science and Engineers at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
