Adidas and The Woolmark Company, a subsidiary of Australian Wool Innovation, are launching The Woolmark Performance Challenge, a new annual design competition for tertiary students in Europe and North America. Through this new Challenge, students are offered the opportunity to develop innovative product applications within the sports and performance industry by applying the performance benefits of Australian Merino wool. The winner of the Woolmark Performance Challenge will be awarded a cash prize of €10,000, and will be presented with career development and commercial opportunities, which include a three-month internship with Adidas, the Woolmark Performance Challenge's 2017-18 global sports brand partner. The deadline for submissions is May 25. Finalists will be announced in June, and the winner will be presented at Ispo Munich 2019. Australian Wool Innovation is a not-for-profit enterprise that conducts research, development and marketing for Australian wool on behalf of around 60,000 woolgrowers, who help fund the company.
