Adidas has announced that Benjamin Proud and Andrew Willis have joined its team of swimmers, only a few weeks ahead of the Rio Olympics. The two British swimmers will wear the recently launched adizero XVI swimsuit. Proud, aged 19, won two gold and a bronze medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, followed by a gold and bronze medal at the 2014 European Championships in Berlin. This year, he set the second fastest time in the 50m butterfly, and is currently ranked sixth in the world in the 50m freestyle. Willis, 25, won a bronze at the 2014 Commonwealth Games and recorded the fourth fastest time in the world this year in the 200m breaststroke. Proud and Willis join the other swimmers in the Adidas team, which also includes Madison Wilson, Michael Andrew, Allison Schmitt, Fernanda Gonzalez, Coralie Balmy, Chris Walker-Hebborn, Théo Bussiere and Kyle Chalmers.
