Adidas has announced the release of a women's ready-to-wear collection in collaboration with Daniëlle Cathari, the 23-year-old fashion designer based in Amsterdam. The Adidas Originals by Daniëlle Cathari capsule collection for spring/summer 2018 debuted with a presentation at New York Fashion Week on Feb. 8. A year ago, Cathari designed a collection of reconstructed vintage tracksuits for a class project, when she was a student at the Amsterdam Fashion Institute. She later presented the collection in New York as part of the autumn 2017 VFiles runway show. It was Cathari's first ever fashion show. The new Adidas Originals by Daniëlle Cathari collection features a modern take on classic Originals icons, Adicolor and Adibreak. The iconic three-stripe silhouettes were reinterpreted with design intensive techniques and innovative materials. The capsule collection will be sold exclusively at and select Adidas Originals flagship stores, and will be rolled out at events in fashion weeks in London, Milan and Paris, alongside launches in the flagship stores of each city. A further 11 looks will be presented in March, the month in which the collection will also be taken to Shanghai fashion week. The testimonial in the ad campaign for the collection is Kendal Jenner, one of Adidas' brand ambassadors. The supermodel has recently launched her involvement on social media.
