Adidas has launched the first versions of its ACE and X soccer boots for female players. Using the insights provided by players, both boots have been designed to fit the female foot through a combination of shape and traction, according to the German brand. The tests showed, for example, that there is typically a lower in-step and narrower foot bend, which meant boots needed new outsole tooling. Both boots also feature shorter and smaller studs, as well as one-off stud positioning. The diameter and height of the studs were designed to help both linear and rotational traction for female athletes.
