Adidas has plans to open a flagship store opposite the Selfridges department store on Oxford Street in London. Pre-letting agreement has been inked and consultations have started with the local community and stakeholders. If the plans are approved, the flagship store in this prestigious location could open in 2018. The plans involve the reconfiguration and extension of the five lower floors in a ten-story building at 425 Oxford Street. The building currently has four different retail units at ground level. A spectacular Niketown store is located nearby at Oxford Circus, spreading over four floors. According to the West End Partnership’s recently launched development project for the West End, Oxford Street attracts 600,000 visitors per week and its retailers take about £5 billion (€6,909m-$7,571m) in sales per year.
