Adidas has unveiled details of the launch of the Parley editions of its UltraBoost, UltraBoost X and UltraBoost Uncaged. The three running shoes, made from up-cycled marine plastic, are the result of the firm's partnership with Parley for the Oceans, the environmental organization that addresses major threats to the oceans as the most important ecosystem of our planet. The shoes are set for launch on May 10. The product release is part of Adidas' commitment to create one million pairs of shoes made from up-cycled marine plastic in 2017. Adidas is using intercepted marine plastic to make performance products including swimming and outdoor items that were released earlier this year. Alongside the new product launch, Adidas is calling on its global community to sign up for a global digital activation taking place around World Oceans Day 2017, on June 5-11, whose details can be found at adidas.com/runfortheoceans. Also, four Major League Soccer (MLS) teams in the U.S. will be wearing game jerseys made from Parley Ocean Plastic on Sunday, April 23. The kits will be worn in the New York City FC vs. Orlando City SC and LA Galaxy vs. Seattle Sounders matches, at Yankee Stadium and StubHub Center, respectively.
