Adidas is honoring Leo Messi's record fifth Ballon d'Or win on Jan. 11 with a custom ultra-luxe version of the Messi 15 football boot. The special edition of the Messi 15 features platinum elements, something Adidas claims has never been seen before on a football boot. Messi's and Adidas' logos on the shoe are made of real platinum, and the back of the cleat is embossed with four gold dots and one platinum dot, to celebrate the player's string of prizes. Messi scored an incredible 52 goals for his club, Barcelona, and his home country Argentina in 2015. He helped Barça win La Liga, the Copa del Rey and the Champions League during the last season. The Argentinean captain won his fifth Ballon d'Or with 41.33 percent of the vote, finishing ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar.
