Adidas is testing different workplace concepts at its headquarters in Herzogenaurach in a new office building named “Pitch,” where 300 of its brand management employees were moved at the beginning of the month. The new office space does not embody any finished concept but is the flexible beta version of what is supposed to become, through user feedback, an optimal workplace solution for the future. As the key word is flexibility, employees no longer have designated desk workplaces but can individually choose which area suits their current tasks best and move there. Some areas are designed for focused working while others are more suitable for creative work and teamwork. Various retreat and relax zones are also being tested in Pitch, which employees will be asked to evaluate. Adidas said its objective is to create an atmosphere which promotes flexibility and collaboration, while at the same time eliminating hierarchies. Once finalized, the new office concept will be rolled out globally.
