Adidas plans to use the opportunity of the 2012 UEFA Euro championship to grow significantly in Poland and solidify its market leadership in Ukraine, the two host countries. Herbert Hainer, the company's chief executive, said that Adidas wants to be No. 1 in Poland by 2015, taking the top spot in football there in 2012. As a sponsor of Euro 2012, Adidas supplies the official match ball and equipment for officials, referees, volunteers and affiliated youth programs. The World Cup in South Africa last year helped Adidas increase football sales by €200 million over 2008, when the Euro championship was held in Austria and Switzerland.
